Product Description

 Thermoplastic Splinting Sheet (LTTP)  is a kind of polymer material, used to immobilize, protect and support injuries such as fractures, sprains, strains and following surgeries as they heal. A thermoplastic splint is made of thermoplastic material that softens and becomes moldable after soaking in 65-70 ° water. Thermoplastic splints differ from traditional plaster casts in that they are lighter, easily molded to fit the body of the individual patient and can be removed for self-care and range of motion exercises but protect the surgery during activities and sleeping. It's generally used for injuries that require a longer healing time.

Usage Scope
1. Used for the fixation of fractures, dislocated joints, soft tissue damage to ligaments and tendon damage.
2. Used for the fixation of joint ligaments and other soft tissue, nerves, tendon injury after surgery.
3. Used for the fixation of bone joint, myelitis, purulent arthritis, primary bone tumor metastasis and other conservative treatment period or lesions removal after surgery .
4. Used for the fixation of bone and joint malformation, nerve paralysis, cerebral palsy, pediatric scoliosis orthopaedic brace.
5. Used for the fixation of post surgery of burns, scald, etc.
6. Used for the fixation of rehabilitation support, orthosis.
Instructions for use
1. Prepare the materials and tools, set the waterbath  to 65-70°.
2. Choose the right pre-cut, or cropped the thermoplastic sheet to the right shape.
3. Put the splint sheet into the 65-70° hot water for 2-3 minutes, it could become soft. Remove it to the worktable, make it dry.
4. Place the splint sheet to the user's body part, mould it to the right shape accordingly.  Turn outwards the hard edges, thus to prevent hurtings. Adjust the splint to the right angle. 
5. Two pieces of sheets could be worked together for a tubular splint.
6.With a good memory, it could be remoulded many times. It is especially used for the immobiflization of post surgery. After the edema disappears, it needs to be re-shaped.
7. Remove the splint from body parts, adjust the splint in an appropriate condition, decorate the edgings with trims. (The bone protrusions and joints can be cushioned at the pressure of the lining to avoid crushing)
8.Velcro & Elastic bandages could be used to attach the splint to the body part. 
Note:
1. Mould the splint with palm and thenar, avoid a large extent of pull during molding process. Ask the user to maintain the same position until the splint become stiff. The edge of the splint should be rolled out into smooth edges, so as not to stab the patient.
2. The splint can be cleaned with a neutral soapy cold water.
3. Keep the splint away from heat sources. I.g.: open flames or microwave ovens, etc.;
4. It is not allowed to be heated with heating gun when it is worn on the user's body part.
5. Repeat use is not be suggested.
Storage: Prevent direct sunlight, away from heat sources, and avoid contact with acid-base, oil and corrosive gases.

How to use it?
  1. Adjust the water bath to 75ºC, put the sheet into hot water for 2-3 minutes.
  2. After the sheet turns soft and pliable, put it on a soft cloth and dry it on. 
  3. Mold it according to the body part, hoop and loop straps behold the splint in place, padding/liner material increase patient comfort.
  4. Keep the sheet for 10 minutes, it can be plastic well. 
  5. With a perfect memory, it can be remolded more than 8 times.
Attention:
1Adjust the water temperature to 65ºC-75 ºC, don't more than 80 ºC, if more than 80 ºC, it will make the splint contraction and deformation.
2. Be sure not to place the sheet in hot water for too long time. In general, 2-3 minutes should be enough to make it soften and activate.
3. Working surroundings. When the operation room temperature is more than 20ºC, it can be plastic within 1.5-3 minutes; When the room temperature drops to 10ºC, the plastic time is about 30-50 minutes. 
4. For orthopedic splints, after activation, it can be stretched to 1.5 times as its original size. Excessive pulling could affect its reshaped resilience and damage its memory function.
5. How to restore a molding splint back to its factory settings? Just put it into the hot water with 65ºC-75 ºCand then it will rebound automatically after 5 minutes.
6. Due to the characteristics of the material itself, in the activation process, it will occasionally occur small area of sticky. Please be sure not to pull randomly. When it leaves the water to solidify, it will automatically relieves adhesion.
7. Storage in room temperature is enough.
8. The product is Eco-friendly, put it outside in the yard with a natural climate for about 12 months, it will be degraded by itself.
